This is a vintage kimono jacket, called a haori, made for a man. The lining of men's haori jackets often depict a scene or motif that was of special interest to the original owner.

The lining of this haori jacket is a gorgeous green - a color we don't often see on men's haori linings.  On the left is a dragon and on the right is a tiger - together they are symbols of balance, yin and yang.

The outer jacket is a black silk with five somewhat faded "ivy" family crests.  There is one section of white dots - not holes, but perhaps a mistake in the dye process? - see last photo.

The haori is lightweight - great for summer.

We display these haori inside out to feature the lining when it is unique. All of the stitching is hidden, so these jackets can normally be displayed or worn (in the West, at least) either way.

See video below for how haori are worn these days.
