Nagoya Style

What is a nagoya obi?  Japanese kimono obi (or obi sash) come in many styles (click here to learn more about Japanese obi), and the nagoya style obi has a construction and lower cost that makes it easier to wear.  Nagoya obi can be casual or semi-formal. Their unique shape - wide at the bow end and narrow at the belt section - make it much easier to tie and more comfortable to wear than the full-width versions.  Japanese obi are decorative only (under-layer ties keep the kimono closed) and are as stunning around the waist as they are as interior décor.
