This listing is for a vintage michiyuki jacket, meant to be worn over a kimono. A square neck line, inner ties to keep the hemline straight, snap closure, and a hidden pocket on the right front panel are the specific features of a michiyuki - michi means "street" and yuki refers to "going out".

This little jacket is a gorgous deep pink color - really unusual - in a raw silk.  No pattern, just the uneven weaving of the nubby silk which gives it a nice weight and texture.

As pretty as the color is, the scalloped neckline and oversized buttons are unique touches and really looks vintage to us.

Michiyuki are a narrow garment, fastened with snaps that will open if the fit is too tight. (The measurement we give is the jacket snapped closed, so your hips and waist measurement should be several inches smaller than the hips/waist measurement we give.)
