This listing is for a full length vintage obi that works well as a table runner. Typically, this style of obi would have a one-meter "blank" (unpatterned) area on the front side, but this one is fully patterned on the front. (The blank area would be hidden when worn, wrapped underneath the top, visible layer of the belt.)

The pattern features a traditional chrysanthemum motif, slightly stylized The petals are white and silver; there's an orange and gold border behind each blossom, and the center of each flower is a black circle.

Also notable is that the pattern shows the entire blossom - several arranged down the center of the obi - which is a departure from the Japanese aesthetic of yugen we see on most obi, where the element is not fully on display. Yugen refers to partial imagery that offers a mystery - a suggestion - of the image's beauty so that the mind will fill in the missing portions more beautifully than the artist could have done.

This is indeed a vintage piece, with a backside of silk that has seen many decades and shows its age, but the silk is sturdy, just blemished (see photos).
