This listing is for a vintage michiyuki jacket, meant to be worn over a kimono. A square neck line, inner ties to keep the hemline straight, snap closure, and a hidden pocket on the right front panel are the specific features of a michiyuki - michi means "street" and yuki refers to "going out".

This jacket is a dark brown with an almost-lime green accent color that creates the pattern.  Note the longer sleeves, suggesting this might have been originally purchased for an unmarried woman.  (The shorter the sleeves, the more married the woman!)

The jacket is also a bit longer than usual - suggesting it was made before the 1950s when a shorter style of jacket became popular.

Michiyuki are a narrow garment, fastened with snaps that will open if the fit is too tight. (The measurement we give is the jacket snapped closed, so your hips and waist measurement should be several inches smaller than the hips/waist measurement we give.)
