Most were made for formal occasions and include amazing handiwork (embroidery, delicate painting, resist dyeing...) and designs. They are more expensive but oh-so-worth it! "Geometric Medley" Woman's Kimono - $140

Wonderful use of geometric design! A background of vertical bands in a raspberry and green with black, with bands of different sized medallions that dance upwards at an angle. Inside each medallion is either tamari ball or floral design with gold leaf at many of the edges. Soft silk, wonderful to wear but if you want a display that will draw the eye and discussion, consider this for your decor as well!

"Watercolor Whimsy " Woman's Kimono - $145

The feel and flow of this creamy silk kimono is luxurious. The design seems to be overlapping, offset stencilled brushwork of abstract bouquets of blossoms. Purples, pinks, blues, golds and greens, with the stems inked in black and arching in all directions. It's a cluster of color against a cream background, ready to pick up any accent color you like. Request a belt in purple, blue, black or green.....?

"Open Book " Woman's Kimono - $145
ITEM NUMBER:0108SWK6
A very sweet and feminine kimono featurng a tiny jacquard background meant to imitate the Kyoto-style kanoko shibori technique. On top of that is a stenciled design in white of softly drawn leaves and branches. The third level of design is another stencil of small images - open books with each page colored differently, folding fan, and flowing curtains - all symbols of propriety and reserve for a young woman. There is some mottling from aged starching on the inside gold uppler lining that does not show through to the outside.

"Desiree" Woman's Kimono - $250
ITEM NUMBER:1107WK1
The quintessential kimono for a young girl's social debut - this furisode (long sleeved) kimono features a charming color combination of teal and light blues, pinks and lucky orange in a flurry of blossoms and treasure carts. Heavily patterned at the hem, both sleeves and shoulder, and gold embroidery outline many of the petals. Behind the design is a diamond and floral jacquard. 36" "butterfly sleeves" that create a stir intended to attract a mate.

Bright and cheerful color and motif combination in this young woman's kimono (note the loner sleeves). Done in the yuzen (rice paste resist) style, the stenciled patterning includes bridges, family crests, florals, streams, bamboo, and more. A rich robe for staying home or going out.

"Checkerboard Shibori " Woman's Kimono - $105

Fun design of alterating squares of shibori and plain purple, with the occasional floral stenciled in. Quite a nice piece, with the shibori still a-puckered and the odd color combination in the flowers as well as gold paintd details on the leaves. Red upper lining adds more sex appeal to this very wearable robe or dress.
