silk fabric originally intended for the ceremonial kimono of
a young Japanese boy, this shirt features a hawk
and treasureboat design on the back, and a samurai helmet
on the front. Additional designs on the sleeve and pocket.
All in muted hues. Construction includes a generous cut, square
yoke back, gussets on sides and sleeves, angled collar, and mother
of pearl buttons.

Pieced from silk fabric originally intended for the ceremonial kimono of a young Japanese boy, this shirt is one of our more understated versions, featuring a bamboo and toy (a spinning top) design on the back, arching bamboo on the front shoulder, and a bit more pattern at the bottom left front. Several different textures of silk combine to give the shirt a bit more subtle patterning. The color is a soft yellow green - like the bamboo it reflects, with greens, blues and an orange-gold as accent colors.
