"Watercolor Basketweave" Woman's DochugiFantastically painted design of wide woven lines overlapping to create a basketweave effect. Look closely to see the telltale edging of a watercolor technique, though of course it was done with permanent fabric dyes.Great bright orange background, muted somewhat by the softer greens, reds, and browns dyed over the top. This is a dochugi style jacket, which crosses over in the kimono style (unlike the haori style which hangs open in the front). But instead of needing an obi it closes with inner and outer ties, which can be tied loosely to allow for a more generous fit. Where haori are best for up to a size 12, dochugi can fit up to a size 18+. See the video below to see the different styles of kimono jackets.
