This listing is for a vintage Japanese haori kimono jacket that has been embellished with a painted dragonfly motif by Taylor Faidley (see her bio below).

The base color is a golden mustard - delish - and the lining that just peeks out at the sleeve is silk with bands of white, pink and orange.

Taylor has added an anime-inspired figure on the back. She's lovely with kitsune (fox) ears and tails, carrying a large, red umbrella, and sporting an expression that draws you in. Keeping with the autumn palette, two red maple leaves float down along the front collar.

See last photo that shows a bit of the paint from the back had bled into the lining, which does not impact the wearability of the jacket.

Taylor Faidley is an up-and-coming young artist based in rural Pennsylvania. What might have started with crayon drawings covering the refrigerator soon became a calling that spans dozens of media. "I've pursued art for as long as I can remember. As a child I loved drawing pictures of my family. Now I work with a wide variety of materials: silk painting, acrylics, pencil drawing, digital design, felting, 3D art pieces - and now I'm painting on vintage kimono! I've always loved Japan and any kind of animation. I draw inspiration from anime and hope to be an animator myself one day. Drawing characters is my passion, but koi and cherry blossoms are never far behind. My designs are always made with care and the hope that someone will enjoy them just as much as I do."
