This listing is for the shikishi board as shown. Shikishi are stiff, (usually) square, paper-covered boards used as a canvas for drawing or painting. Seasonal and nature motifs are common, as are deities and zodiac animals. They are often displayed with seasonoUnlinal deckr, given as gifts, or mounted on fabric to create a scroll effect.

This shikishi features a large kabuto - samuari helmet - painted in black and white. These armored head coverings were worn into battle. Signed and stamped by the artist. Great gift for a young samurai fan.

This shikishi is just under 10.5" tall and 9.5" wide, The backside is plain but covered with gold speckled paper. Gold trim all around the edges.
