This listing is for a set of four vintage wooden bobbins (or are they called spindles or quills?) that were once used in the kimono and obi weaving done in Nishijin in Kyoto. They were collected at one of the monthly temple flea markets there. Made of wood but with steel reinforcement rings at the top and a section of white bordered in green just under the top lip. Grooves all the way down the length of the shaft. About 10" long. Great for craftwork, displays....be creative! See the video below for a glimpse into the wonderful world of Japanese weaving.
