A rayon, contemporary noren in red and white with a stenciled design of small pine needles. Pine needles symbolize longevity and perserverence. This noren was made from a furoshiki wrapping cloth.

Noren provide a bit of privacy between rooms or could serve as window treatments or interior design elements in a western home. A tension or curtain rod (up to 1" diameter) will to hold the noren at the top of the doorway/window. See video below for a slide show on noren door curtains in Japan.
