This listing is for a vintage Japanese wedding kimono, called a kakeshita. It is worn with an obi underneath the heavier and even more elaborately made uchikake kimono, Kakashita are typically lighter weight, with a lighter padding at the hem, a yuzen-dyed rather than woven fabric, and patterning that may have a "blank" area at the waist where the obi would be tied.

This is a vintage Japanese wedding kimono, but it has us confounded. We've listed it as a kakeshita style wedding kimono but it has the design of the more formal uchikake style because it is a heavier woven fabric with no pattern break at the waist. But there is no padded hem, which an uchikake would have.

The design on this wedding kimono has almost a checkerboard effect, with gold bands alternating with large, colorful paulownia florals with green, purple, orange, and light blue accents.
