This vintage Japanese haori jacket would have been worn on top of a vintage kimono on a chilly day.

Gorgeous drape to the creamy silk of this jacket. Feels luxurious to wear! Look closely to see that the background has a pattern of colors that mix to create a deep brick orange. The design is a series of boxes with wide, floral-filled borders that extend beyond the corners. Each box contains a mirrored abstract floral, and painted on top of each floral is a swath of glistening silver.

Because of the lined border to each element, we suggest this was created with the yuzen technique. See the video below to see how this process is done.

All of the stitching is hidden (since it was hand-sewn) so technically these haori jackets are reversible. Sometimes the lining is as pretty as the outer jacket!
