This listing is for a vintage Japanese kimono with an amazingly detailed and colorful pattern.

The colorful design seems to depict and Edo Period village on a busy festival day. You'll see dancers upon a stage, an archer competition, vendors, picnickers, and more. Beautifully drawn and painted - so much to see!

Although this kimono came to us through our vintage sources, it seems to be almost new. We want to believe it was created with dozens of stencils and painted by hand, but that seems impossible. We can descern the very slightest if differences in the detail between seemingly identical elements - but it might well have been printed. A gorgeous kimono to wear but also a fascinating decor piece.
