Description

This set of three vintage Japanese kimono fabric sleeves were salvaged from kimono or haori that were too damaged to sell for wearing or display.

Sleeve #1 is a two-toned cream and gold with a sandy beach-like motif. Some blemishes. Silk. Lined.
Sleeve #2 is a collage of florals in jewel tones on cream with some gold accents made with a katagami stencil and shaded by hand. Silk. Lined.
Sleeve #3 has a kaneko shibori design in red and white. Silk. Lined.

Where do they come from? We deconstruct damaged, plain or just-too-funky-to-wear garments and use most of that fabric for our Japanique Boutique line of gift and accessories, but we save the sleeves for you!

Each sleeve length varies from 14"-24" but open the seam to double that length. See photos for size of each sleeve. Most are lined (bonus fabric!). We try to note any significant defects in the photos but other slight blemishes are possible. Vintage kimono fabrics are best for piecework in case imperfections need to be worked around.

See video below where Nancy explains the how and why of our Sleeve Sets, as well as video links to learn more about shibori and katagami.
