A very cool and unusual pair of himo ties. One side features silk that has been dyed with the shibori (tie dye) technique - little red kaneko dots. The other side is a very light minty green.

We have pre-tied this himo pair in a decorative square knot and added contemporary clasps to make it easier to attach to your haori. We distinguish these "fancy" ones because of their unusual weave, color, braiding, age, size, or something else!

These lovely decorative ties can be found on many vintage women's haori jackets. They are created on a special loom with a macramé or braiding technique, see video below. Typically six to seven inches long. They might be flat or rounded, soft or stiff, and often have a tasseled end -- but sometimes something uniquely different. Modern uses include bookmarks, zipper pulls, key chains, and more!
