This Japanique Tunic Vest converts a vintage Japanese kimono jacket into contemporary fashion! We simply removed the sleeves of a traditional haori (kimono jacket) voila - instant easy-to-wear accent vest. The deep armholes allow for great ease of movement and the extra fabric at the shoulder creates almost a cap sleeve. It's a simple, versatile vest to throw on over jeans or to add pattern and style to solid colors underneath.

This tunic vest features traditional motifs - a treasure cart, bamboo, peonies, and other auspicious design elements - against a light blue background. The fabric is a silky synthetic with a woven floral grid. Note that several flowers are outlined with heavy embroidery. The front of the vest is patterned on the right side with a similar floral and on the left with just a few springs of bamboo.

Like the haori it started as, the tunic vest is not meant to cross over but should be worn open to reveal a bit of what is worn underneath.
