This listing is for a very vintage happi coat - typically worn for parades or festivals, and usually decorated with auspicious designs or kanji that refer to an event sponsor, community organization, or even the town government.

The color is a light medium blue with a large white bird on the back and a band of florals along the bottom section. Note that the sleeves have a polka dot trim that can be hidden or shown, as desired.

On the front collar is white kanji lettering that can be translated as "Itami Traditional Dance Association". Itami is a town on the outskirts of Osaka, where the domestic Kansai area airport is.

Watch the video below on the Gion Matsuri - a summer festival in Kyoto that features huge parade floats pulled by (mostly) men in happi coats! The coats are also worn by observers along the very crowded sidewalks!
