This listing is for a "kinchaku" - a drawstring purse or pouch that was (is) traditionally used by a kimono-clad woman in Japan. They're typically made with kimono fabric and tend to be for casual, rather than formal, occasions.

This purse starts with a woven bamboo bottom with rounded edges. The pouch fabric is red rayon chirimen with a colorful floral pattern that includes mums, plum blossoms, maple leaves, bamboo, and more. Red cords become the handles once they're pulled through the red loops tied to the top that cinch the bag closed.

Lined, excellent condition.
