This listing is for a "kinchaku" - a drawstring purse or pouch that was (is) traditionally used by a kimono-clad woman in Japan. They're typically made with kimono fabric and tend to be for casual, rather than formal, occasions.

This little cutie has a rounded, woven bamboo basket bottom with a printed cotton pouch. Faux shibori background to floating florals and temple bells outlined in gold. Lots of color. Red cording is threaded through the sewn loops at the top to cinch the bag closed.

Lined, excellent condition.
