This listing is for a "half underkimono" - a han juban in Japanese - which would be worn under a man's kimono. Remember, layering is quite important in kimono-wearing. There is an over-collar and a bodice in a breathable cotton fabric. Contemporary han juban often have narrow sleeves of the same fabric as the bodice, but this one is different.

This han juban features silky sleeves with a printed pattern of rural scenes and a kanji poem or story against a soft gray background. The over-collar is black and the bodice cotton is lightweight, so this was likely intended for summer wear. There is a small sewn split on each side seam with allows for a bit more cross-over coverage.

If you don't have a kimono, consider a han juban worn as a light jacket, cover up or casual top for men or women. See the video for how these are worn under a kimono.
