"Gold Noshi" Wedding Kimono (Uchikake) The noshi pattern is one of our favorites! The long golden and silvery bundles of ribbons float and overlap against the orange background. Noshi is now folded paper given with gifts, but originally it comes (we have heard) from an old fishing village custom of banding strips of dried abalone together to celebrate a good day's catch. In any case, they are a symbol of celebration and good will. Some pastel green and blue accent tones. This is an uchikake - meant to be worn on top of another kimono, not meant to be tied with an obi but rather draped open, mostly for picture taking. These make amazing displays.
