Description

"Taupe Bands" Man's Under Kimono

A casual silk under kimono with a simple design. Bands of plain taupe alternate with bands that are filled with tiny hashtags in gray and brown.

There's some mottling on the back sleeve, a small spot on the front panel, and some mottling on the back collar, see photos. Still quite wearable.

Under kimono (called juban or nagajuban) are layered under a kimono (and over undergarments) when dressing formally in a kimono. Although juban are often the more colorful and decorative versions of kimono for a man, only an inch of the collar would be visible to the public. The designs on the fabric are reserved for the wearer and whoever is in the room when he's getting dressed or undressed. This style of kimono is popular in Western countries as a casual robe or cover up.

See the video below on how to traditionally dress in man's kimono.
