Noren are the traditional Japanese doorway curtains that hang to separate rooms in a house. Merchants also use them as shop signs over their entrance, where a gentle breeze can move the noren panels like an inviting, beckoning wave. Temples hang larger, more elaborate noren for celebrations and ceremonies. On offer here are vintage noren when we can find them, as well as newer noren that we have over-dyed from blanks purchased in bulk in Japan. While they last you'll also see undyed blanks for sale so that you might create your own version to compliment your decor.
