CHILDREN'S VINTAGE KIMONO
Kids' vintage kimono are not as commonly available as adult kimono (since there were few occasions to wear them). Girl's kimono tend to be quite feminine, in pinks or reds with lots of flowers. We rarely get obi for children's kimono. Boy's kimono tend to be in two styles: a colorful underkimono with patterning throughout or a miyamairi, with a large focus image on the center back. (Miyamairi are ceremonial and better for display than for wearing.) We occasionally get boy's hakama, girl's obi, geta shoes, and other miscellaneous treasures. Children's kimono are typically small sized, so please check measurements carefully. The more formal styles can be quite ornate and may be more appropriate as displays than as "play clothes".
