This listing is for a vintage michiyuki jacket, meant to be worn over a kimono. A square neck line, inner ties to keep the hemline straight, snap closure, and a hidden pocket on the right front panel are the specific features of a michiyuki - michi means "street" and yuki refers to "going out".

This michiyuki is a delight.  A mix of color and design that all goes together beautifully.  There are florals and abstracts all jumbled together in a rainbow of color against a blue-gray background.

Look closely to realize that some of the floral elements are actually velvet - with a slightly raised texture. These floral catch the light and add depth to an otherwise dense design.

The silk has a slightly nappy texture, a great weight, and is really fun to wear.

Michiyuki are a narrow garment, fastened with snaps that will open if the fit is too tight. (The measurement we give is the jacket snapped closed, so your hips and waist measurement should be several inches smaller than the hips/waist measurement we give.)
