This listing is for one yard of vintage Japanese kimono fabric.

This fabric is a light wool - not scratchy, fairly soft - and comes from a man's underkimono (juban). Bands of light and dark blues alternate, each filled with a bit of subtle patterning.  Floating along the bands is a folding fan shape with a kanji greeting, and bottle gourds, which used to be used by travellers to hold precious items (money, sake, tea...).

Don't miss the Daruma (god of perseverence) floating like one of the gourds.   Click here to learn more about Daruma.

Note that this yardage comes from deconstructed vintage Japanese kimono, so the width is just over 14" but seamlines are likely.  As a vintage fabric, this yardage may have slight blemishes, seamlines, and the like, so it is best for piecework.-------
