Custom Made Kimono & Apparel

All of our vintage items were originally made (usually tailor-made!) for a Japanese person.  But because of how the kimono is worn - with a lot of overlapping - most can be adjusted and worn comfortably on US-sized small to medium frames.  

For those who need a larger size (for women, over a size 12, and XL, XXL, etc), we offer custom made kimono, haori, and hakama.

Our custom pieces are made with the traditional construction (we use patterns from www.folkwear.com).  Vintage kimono were made with a 14" wide fabric, but by using wider, contemporary fabric we can get the traditional look in larger sizes.
