Custom Made Hakama

This is a traditional hakama made to your measurements, which guarantees that it will fit. There are six pleats in the front, side slits on each leg that usually come to about mid-thigh, and a stiff backboard (koshi-ita) in the back but no hakama-dome (the small plastic tab that tucks into the obi). There are two sets of ties at the waist - shorter ones attached to the back panel and longer ones attached to the front panel.

Offered in pant or skirt style.

We use a 100% cotton bottom weight twill and we only keep black in stock. If you would like a cotton color other than black and are flexible on the fabric (it might be lighter weight cotton, synthetic or a cotton blend), enter the shading detail below (ex: dark navy blue, medium gray, royal purple, pine green, etc.). We will email you several color swatches to choose from. If you would like silk, see instructions below on choosing a color from silkbaron.com.

The base price is $175 but the final price will vary depending on the options you choose.

OPTIONS:
-> Take $25 off the price if you send us your own fabric. Email us before placing the order if you intend to send us fabric. Sorry, no satins, denim or heavy fabric. The fabric width must be 52" and normally we need 5 yards minimum - additional fabric required for larger or longer hakama.

-> Make it silk instead of cotton for $75 more. Choose from dozens of colors at The Silk Baron by clicking on their link at the bottom of the page to visit their site. Make your color selection from their dupioni silk (52" width or wider) collection and then enter your choice in the COLOR section below. We will order the fabric.

Enter your measurements below. NOTE: If you have a waist or hip measurement greater than 47" or need a length greater than 45", an additional $50 XL surcharge is required.

Allow 4 weeks (6 weeks for 2 or more garments) to be completed not including shipping time. (NOTE: If you are sending fabric or ordering silk, the four week period begins after we receive the fabric.) Rush orders can be requested based on seamstress' schedule for an additional $50 fee.
