"Paulownia Yuzen" Tomesode Kimono
Elegant, "Mother of the Bride" style tomesode kimono - made for formal wear.
Floating, painted florals with paulownia and wisteria mounted on ivy leaves. Each one is unique, bearing different colors, embroidery, and finishing strokes. You'll see several techniques including couching, yuzen, and gold leaf. See videos below on each technique. Five stylized paulownia crests.
A tomesode kimono is typically overall black silk with five family crests on the upper section (one at the neck, one on the back of each sleeve, one on each side of the collar) which confirms it is the highest level of formality for a kimono. The design stretches across the hemline with more image in the front, where it would be seen best, but continues across to the back.
