Description

"Peony Tradition" Girl's Kimono

This is a formal kimono for a young girl – possibly meant for the Shichi-Go-San Festival, where children who are three, five, or seven years old visit the local temples and shrines as a rite of passage. See below for a cute video featuring kid wearing traditional kimono.

Folding fans with cranes and florals, including mums, irises, plum blossoms, and peonies. Beautiful pink with a reddish-orange hem.

The patterning was done with the yuzen technique with gold leaf accents - see videos below for how this is done - as well as gold couched embroidered edges to the featured florals.
