These are all vintage kimono jacket of varying styles, all originally designed to be worn atop a traditional kimono but can add a unique Asian accent to any modern wardrobe.  Haori styles are not meant to crossover in the front, whereas dochigi do cross over and the michiyuki has snap closures.  All are  previously owned, and most were designed and custom-sewn for a Japanese woman who may never have worn it. Often given as dowry items until the 1960's, these timeless treasures were often stored away and sometimes forgotten since the modern Japanese woman had few occasions to wear them since the 1950's.  They are sent to auction houses when the owner passes away or no longer has room to store them, and eventually they find their way to this website and to appreciative new owners.
