Ordering - Here's how it works

Everything shown on the website is available - once it is ordered it is removed from the listing.  But remember, each item is one-of-a-kind, and we fill orders as they come in: first come, first served.  The kimono you like today may be gone tomorrow.

To order any items pictured on the site:

Check or enter any order details for that product before clicking on the "Add To Cart" button below the description. That will take you to our shopping cart in a secured server .

Update your cart or continue shopping and when you are ready to check out, click the CHECK OUT button.

Enter shipping address and choose a shipping option, then click NEXT.

Enter Billing information then click NEXT to complete the order.

If the transaction is approved for your card, you will get an order number and receipt. You will also receive an email with your order information. We will ship within three days of receiving the order.

If you prefer to pay by check, email us first so we can hold the item for you (for up to seven days once you've mailed the check).

 A word on "condition":
As vintage items, these Japanese treasures are all pre-owned, with various degrees of wear; some look brand new, others have signs of how much their previous Japanese owners loved them.

Excellent condition means "like new, few or no signs of previous use"
Very Good = perhaps some fading, small blemishes, hardly noticeable
Good = somewhat "broken in" in terms of small-but-noticeable discolorations, still wearable. (I don't clean or press them to keep handling and costs down - some discolorations might come out with dry cleaning...but no guarantees.) If you are not happy with your order, you can always return the item within seven days for a refund or credit towards another purchase.

 A word about sizing....
- Full length kimonos may appear to be "too long to wear", but they are meant to be gathered at the waist so that once they're belted, the top blouses out over a hidden belt, then the decorative obi is worn on top.

- Most of the pieces shown here were tailor-made for their owner, so there are no "small-medium-large" sizes. Kimonos, which are meant to close in the front, may not fit American sizes over 14. Haori, on the other hand, are jackets and do not need to close in the front.

-Typical length of the kimono is 54-59 inches, which is fine for heights up to around 5'9" on thin-to-medium sized frame.  Taller people may find the kimono does not reach the top of their feet or the bone of their wrist.
