"Puckered Shibori " Woman's Haori Jacket - $85

What's more striking than an overall shibori design on red?! We don't get them often and they always go fast. The background silk is a lightening jacquard but the overlapping circle design is so artfully done that it draws the eye to the surface design. Still got the puckered texture, note the uneven dotting that denote hand tied shibori.

" Pine Cones " Woman's Haori Jacket - $95

A very soft crepey silk is the real treat of this kimono jacket - such a luxurious feel! As if that's not enough, consider the pine motif (symbolizing endurance and long life) in both the pine needles printed on the silk and the tiny pine cones that are hand-embroidered as well. And surprise - a bright contrasting lining!

"Moonlit Clouds" Woman's Haori Jacket - $70
ITEM NUMBER: 0408WH19
Dramatic, floating cloud design against a pitch black silk background give the clouds a moonglow effect. Look closely at the clouds themselves and see that each has a stenciled patterning made with the tiniest of punch-dot stencils. Amazing workmanship - it isn't printed, it's stenciled. Nice drape and flow to the jacket, fun to wear.

"Weaver's Tools " Woman's Haori Jacket - $105
ITEM NUMBER: 0408WH18
A wonderful collector's item for a weaver who loves Japanese ikat. The small repeated images represent the wooden weaver's shuttles and the colored dots inbetween them are the spools of thread. Any weaver will also appreciate the intricate ikat technique that created the pattern. A smooth silk, worthy of display but also quite wearable.

A deep, dark black silk with a large floral jacquard of roses in bloom that imbues an elegant flair when the light hits the fabric just right. A bright contrasting lining to the upper bodice and sleeves keep your secret - that your little black jacket is not like any other.... A couple tiny spots on the sleeve but otherwise excellent condition.

"Green, Gray & Grand " Woman's Haori Jacket - $55

If subtle is your thing, this jacket is for you. A soft hand to the silk, and a seemingly simple jumble of puzzle shapes but look closely and see a shimmer to the weave in some shapes and a hint of coral in some others. Tiny blemish on the sleeve but hardly noticible.

"Deeply Subtle " Woman's Haori Jacket - $85

Seems like a simple black silk jacket, but look closer to find a very subtle diamond grid pattern and hidden floral in the fabric. It will catch the light and then catch the eye. A single crest appears at the neck. Lining is the same fabric except for a contrasting sleeve lining.

An amazing fabric created by hand-cut stencils (with such fine lines!) that create street scenes from the Meiji Period, including tiny figures and detail in the bridges! What a treat to wear not only for the design but for the look, feel, and drape of the silk.

"Shibori Fan " Woman's Haori Jacket - $90

A wonderful example of the kanoko shibori technique for which Kyoto is famous. The design is of arched fans with floral patterning inside many of them. Beneath the design is a mottled dye process that varies between wine and mandarin. Light feel to the silk.

"Florida Beauty " Woman's Haori Jacket - $70
ITEM NUMBER: 0108WH8
If you can't be in the sunshine state, you can at least wear it around your shoulders! This bright tangerine colored jacket even has a touch of greenery to make you feel like you're in the orchards. Smooth finish to the medium-weight silk (a warm jacket) with a delightful stenciled floral design reaching across the back and sleeves. The outlines were stenciled but the colors applied with a brush. Sweet yellow centers to the blossoms. And a fun lining, too!

"Roketsuzome Forest " Woman's Haori Jacket - $55

The olive background color is applied in layers that move the eye toward the deeper variation in the dye work, and on top of that is a branch and pine (fans?) pattern created by a wax resist (roketsuzome) technique - probably brushed by hand (rather than stenciled on).

"Delighted" Woman's Haori Jacket - $90
ITEM NUMBER: 0108WH5
A fairly vintage jacket (probably from the 1950's) but still in excellent condition - even a bit stiff from lack of use. Stored well all of these years as noted by the removable basting stitches. In the background are tiny woven diamonds and on top is a scattering of abstract florals in turquoise, coral and silver. A merry mix of color and design even in the lining that peeks out at the sleeve openings! - that gives the jacket a light-hearted feel. Sturdy for casual wear - even over jeans!
