|| Kimono for
Tea Ceremony, Ikebana, or..... These are womens' kimono with subtle colors and
patterns - excellent for wearing when performing the traditional
Japanese arts of ikebana and tea ceremony. They are often in darker,
subdued colors that can be set off by a contrasting obi. To order,

Very simple and plain woman's kimono with no patterning other than how the light catches the weave to create a sense of movement, like moonlight on the water. Very subtle, unlined for summertime but not sheer, and overall, understated. A dark background for a light colored obi.
Both the color and the fabric jacquard of this kimono reminds us of the deep, dark green ocean that surrounds Japan. The silk is a tone on tone basketweave pattern with an arched patterh that creates the look of a sea of rolling waves. A light and flowy silk, not stiff at all, a pleasure to wear.
A very small sized
raw silk kimono - perhaps an indicator of its age but certainly
of the size of the woman it was created for. Completely
unpatterned (not even a crest at the neck) but the color
is rich enough to carry the day. A small blemish
on the white lining, and some
texture to the weave that could even appear to be bands in
the weave but this would be due to the dyed silk threads, not
patterning.
Subtle in tone
and design, this soft silk kimono
features a tiny repeated ivy
leaf crest design in the slightly textured jacquard.
No crest, just the pale blue
color awaiting your suitably subtle obi.
Sweet and light color
and design of tone
on tone swirls that shine in the light. A smooth drape
to the silk - feels wonderful against the skin. An embroidered
red crest at the neck! Belt
sold separately.
