| Gorgeous array of subtle colors in a pattern that looks like sunlight glinting off the cloud-covered mountains...Lots of metalic threads give it dazzle and shine. As a fukuro-style obi, it is 12" wide, solid cream color on the back, and would be folded in half for the portion that goes around the waist (crease lines are still visible), and has a plain, unpatterned section that would be hidden as an underlayer wrapped at the waist. Lovely in the taiko drum bow style. |

| In a maru obi, only the front is seen but both sides are patterned, which means no expense was spared for this most formal style of obi. This obi features alegant and complex patterning of color and traditional designs for a wedding occasion - cranes, drums, treasure carts, and auspicious florals. Uniquely Japanese mix of colors - primary and muted, and always lots of gold. Makes a striking decor piece for table, piano, or wall, but can be folded or worn as an obi in an elaborate bow. |

Lots of gold gives it dazzle and shine but the colors are so subtle, it is far from overwhelming. As a fukuro-style obi, it is 12" wide, solid colored (cream) on the back and with a blank section for about one yard in the middle portion of a plain, unpatterned section that would be hidden as an underlayer wrapped at the waist. |

| Bright colors and gold metalic sparkle give this nagoya style obi pizzazz to brighten up a less-lively kimono or to add a bold accent to your table or display wall. A single large medallion appears where the taiko drum style bow would be tied in the back, but a partial medallion peeks out at the midwaist and gold woven imagery is scattered along the rest of the obi. Backside is plain. This vintage obi shows signs of wear at one side and at the wider end of the piece, where the edges have frayed. Still wearable, priced accordingly. |

| Fascinating hand painted scene of a young farmer reading while carrying grain on his back. The imagery comes from an old Japanese folktale, but we do not know the details. The painting is elaborate, precise, and, unfortunately, unsigned. The background is a black satin silk, and you'll find a small painted floral on the mid-waist of the belt. Can of course be worn as an obi in the taiko drum bow style but would also make a very compelling wall decoration. |

A one yard stretch of plain teal on the belt portion (which would be hidden when the obi is worn) adds another dramatic element to the obi when it is displayed. A small slight blemish on the belt portion, basting entact in some places. |
