"Gold Fans, Red Shibori" Girl's Kimono

This is a formal kimono for a young girl – possibly meant for the Shichi-Go-San Festival, where children who are three, five, or seven years old visit the local temples and shrines as a rite of passage. See below for a cute video featuring a kid's festival wearing traditional kimono.

This is quite a display piece! White silk jacquard background and bright red clouds created with the shibori technique (see video below).

And on top of the shibori you'll find gold stenciled imagery as well as gold couching outlining some elements.

Five family crests done in red!
