Description

"Kimono Gems" Remnant Packs - Set of 3

These make great gifts for quilters or fabric artists!

We salvage these remnants from vintage (1950s-1980s) Japanese kimono and haori jackets that we disassemble because of damage. Each Kimono Gem packet contains one square yard of fabric made up of three different fabrics. Each remnant is one yard long - two pieces will be 14" wide and the third will be 9-10" wide. Plenty to make a scarf or pieced pillow top....

No two packets are the same, so you never know what you'll get, though we do coordinate the three pieces within each packet. Patterning can include florals, geometrics, abstracts, solids, or traditional motifs (huts, gardens, fans, drums, birds, butterflies, etc...).

Mostly silks, but synthetics are possible; cottons are rarely available but feel free to request them in your preferences when you order.

The fabric weight can vary from lighter linings (good for scarves and purse linings) to medium weight weaves suitable for clothing, art quilts, applique, etc.

We do our best to avoid including pieces with blemishes or fading from age, but these are vintage remnants and are best for piece work projects. There may be signs of age but each remnant will be at least 90% usable.

If you would like us to coordinate all three packets (e.g., blue tones, autumn colors, neutrals, etc.) or to avoid any colors (e.g., "no orange please") just enter that info in the Comments Box on page 3 of the order form.

Photos above are examples - yours will be different.
