It's near impossible to capture the unique weave of this
really cool michiyuki jacket. If you're a collector, you'll be pleasantly
surprised with the piece when you get it home.
Yes, it's a mottled green/gold/brown color, but the weave is
light and open, with what seems to be a double layer such that the space in
between creates a dimensional effect that we are unable to describe well.
The color changes with the lighting and distance. Some times
you see a leopard type of pattern and there are also small thin arches in the
background.
Take a look at the photos to get a sense of it, but this is
one of those pieces you have to touch to appreciate.
Michiyuki were worn over the kimono (which showed at the
neck) on chilly days.
Michi meants
"street" and yuki referes to "going out".
