"Bingata Style" Woman's Kimono

This kimono is from the Hoffman Collection - a series of hand-picked vintage kimono and fabrics chosen one-by-one at the markets in Japan over that last 20 years.  Alas, the owner reluctantly parts with her collection but we enthusiastically list them for her here. 

Although this is not likely to be "real bingata," created and dyed in the authentic Okinawan technique, it is a well designed and beautifully dyed kimono done in the bingata style.  

Stenciled and brush-dyed with a patterning that provides shadowing and depth to each design element, this kimono features traditional Okinawan imagers:  huts, birds, and more! 

An array of summer colors against a soft white cream silk.  Gorgeous.
