"Pale Yellow with Fans" Unfinished Women's Kimono
It is not easy to complete this as a kimono, though a karinui certainly gives you a head start on the attempt rather than beginning with a tan (continuous bolt meant for a kimono).
This is a lovely silk, dyed so that there is a slight variation to the shading on a background jacquard grid of crest-filled diamonds.
The bright red and turquoise really pop against the soft background. Look closely at the photos to find embroidered embellishments, metallic stenciled designs, and the unique detail of each image.
If you decided to take the basting out, you'd have about eleven yards of fabric to use for your sewing project. Great for scarves, pillows, a dress - even a blanket or quilt top.
