Silver and coral double diamond design, offset to the right, as is done with many Japanese designs. Using partial patterns triggers the imagination, which creates the rest of the image. This is a nagoya obi, where the width is folded over and sewn together for about two thirds of the length - this is the belt portion that would be wrapped around the waist. The rest (about one yard) remains open the full width - this is the bow section and in formal versions of the nagoya obi (like this one) there is a featured image designed to appear center-back when the obi is tied in the taiko style bow. Normally the design is repeated in a modified version where it would appear at the center front waist but this one has only the single large design at the back. Silk Length=11' (bow 41', belt section 95')
