Atop the large checks are woven clusters of bridal and festive imagery: phoenix, treasure/dowry carts, and lots of florals.
You're bound to notice something new in the layered patterning every time you look at it!
Heavily padded red hem. This is an uchikake - meant to be worn on top of another kimono, not meant to be tied with an obi but rather draped open, mostly for picture taking. These also make elegant displays.
