A bright tangerine orange - very auspicious color! - but with artfully added dark orange accents to add depth to the background.

Dozens of large blossoms in purple, red and blue have been added with the yuzen dye technique (note the white outlining to the images).

Some are highlighted with gold couching, and each flower is different, suggesting these were hand-painted, not stenciled.

Shaded green leaves and the occasional gray sumie-painted stems add balance and connections among the flowers.

This is a kakeshita style of wedding kimono, with a lighter weight, lighter padding at the hem and normally has less patterning at the waist so that it can be more readily belted without covering the design. In this case, the patterning is barely lighter at the waist.
