We are intrigued by the unusual 2-garret-style roof feature depicted in the temple scene on this formal man's haori jacket.

As you may know, the linings of these jackets are usually sentimental in some way to their original owner, so no doubt this temple had a special meaning.

This haori jacket is black silk on the outside with a two-feather crest in each of the five locations indicating the highest level of formality.

The lining is a brocaded weave in earth tones on a golden brown, with two fan-shaped images - one of the temple and the other of an unusual narrow fishing bridge extending out into the lake.
