Yowza - this obi will make a statement no matter where it is displayed!

Bright colors and bold patterning create a striking element for tabletop, entryway, or the waist of a kimono-clad beauty.

The main patterning seems to be a weave of overlapping bands that create an amazing 3D effect, along with golden clouds floating in from the edges, each with a shoji screen effect.

This is a fukuro obi - wide for the entire length, plain on the backside and patterned only on the front, with a blank section on the front as well - this would be hidden under a patterned layer wrapped around the waist, but this break in the patterning can also provide a nice color contrast when the piece is displayed.
